Born 60 years ago in Wangaghakiri, a fishing settlement founded by his late father, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. Formative years were characterized by family discipline, hard work, perseverance and faith.
Through determination and the special grace of GOD, was able to complete primary, secondary and the university education. Obtained a BSc in Agricultural Economics and Extension, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration and management – both from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt. A Chartered Human resource manager, and Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
Worked with the defunct PAN AFRICAN BANK. Became a councilor in 1990, under the option A-4 Open Ballot System; elected, first as Vice-Chairman, and subsequently as Chairman of Nembe local Government council in 1999. Adjudged as the best performing chairman in 2001, based on assessment by the office of the Deputy Governor (Dr Goodluck Jonathan, at that time)
Honorable Commissioner of Local Government, Rural Development and Chieftaincy Affair; commissioner of health in Bayelsa state. The School Medicine, Niger Delta University and the School of Nursing, Tombia, received accreditation while serving as Commissioner for Health.
Member of the Governing Board of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (2008) several Bayelsans were employed; Executive Director, Human Resource and Administration of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA). Embarked upon several policy reforms and quality projects. Several Bayelsan also got employed. Mbiama-Yenagoa road was dualized, while other critical roads were maintained. The state headquarters of the agency was built in Yenagoa.
